What Age is Best?
There is no single “right” age — circumcision can be performed safely at any age. However, there are general considerations:
- Infants (0–2 years): Heals fastest, least distressing for the child, and the procedure is simpler.
- Children (3–12 years): Commonly done during school holidays to allow proper rest and recovery at home.
- Teens & Adults: Fully effective. Recovery takes slightly longer — typically 2–3 weeks. Local anaesthesia is used.
